Monkies Vintage & Thrift is a small Austin shop for heavyweight vintage tees from the golden era of sci-fi, comics and street combat — washed down to look pulled from a '90s thrift rack, and stitched to outlast the decade.

What earns a place in the archive

Every piece has to pass three tests

Heavyweight or nothing

Thick 100% cotton with real weight to it — drop shoulders, ribbed crewnecks and twin-needle stitching, the way tees were built back then.

Washed, not worn out

Black wash, acid wash, off-white — every piece is washed down for that broken-in look from day one. Shade varies slightly piece to piece; that's the point.

Graphics worth keeping

Bold prints that don't fade after three washes. If we wouldn't dig it out of a crate ourselves, it doesn't make the rack.
